MPCon 25 CS:S Tournament FAQ

1) Is the LAN BYOC?- Yes, you will have to bring your computer for the event, we do not provide any PC's for LAN attendees.  This means you will have to bring everything including your own monitor, PC, keyboard, mouse, Ethernet cable (25 feet), monitor, etc.  NO SPEAKERS ALLOWED!

2) Do you have to pay for the LAN to play in the CS:S Tournament?- Yes, you must be an attendee of the LAN to play in any tournaments, including CS:S

3) What are the fees for the LAN and tournament- To enter the LAN, it is $27 (prepay) or $30 (door) per person to get into the LAN.  This gives you entry into all tournaments that you want to, except CS:S, and free pizza on Saturday evening.  To enter the CS:S tournament, it is $25 per person, which can only be paid in cash at the LAN.

4) What are the cash prizes for CS:S?- Based on 16 teams, the prize will go $1500 for 1st place, and $500 for 2nd place.  This will be adjusted both higher or later based on attendance.

5) What is the maplist for the tournament?- For the first night, you will play 4 prelim games on the 4 stock maps (de_train, de_inferno, de_nuke, and de_dust2).  On day 2, you will play a map rotation of the 4 stock maps, plus de_contra and de_season.  This gives each team a minimum of 6 games.

6) When can we sign up?- Signups will begin at the beginning of June, which you can at that point prepay, and choose your own seating.

7) What ruleset will be used?- We will use the current CEVO ruleset, including all of it's zblock configs.  This can be changed during the captains meeting due to popular vote.

8) What if there is a tie?- In the event of a tie during the prelim games, you will not play any overtime.  It will just be adressed as a tie in your record.  There will be CEVO configured overtime for the double elimination tournament on the second day.

9) Is there cheating allowed?- In the event someone is caught cheating, your entire team will disqualified, and you will be removed from the LAN without a refund.  There is ZERO tolerance for cheating.

10) Is there trash talking allowed?- We at MPCon agree that trash talking is part of the competition.  We ask that you refrain from using message mode 1 during all matches when live, and keep cursing to a minimum.  Any racial or sexual slurs used will result in an automatic forfeit of that round.  We have to do this due to the building being open to the public.

11)Can we use FPS configs or GUIs?- Yes you can, as long as the follow CEVO regulations.  Basically, if you can use them online, you can use them on LAN.  If you can't use them online, you can't use them on LAN
